Why your coaching clients quit too early and what to do about it
Introducing F8: The Client Transformational Framework. The framework that minimises client problems and maximises transformational success
“Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit.”
Napoleon Hill
What is the true value I have brought to my work over the past 4 years (2019-2023)?
Where is the real tangible value I’ve created?
In years to come when I look back, what will remain? What is it that I can point to and say, “Here’s the evidence that I did something meaningful…”?
Did I achieve what I set out to achieve?
Is it the revenue generated from the work I’ve done?
Is it the clients I’ve impacted and helped along the way?
Is it the jobs I’ve created?
Is it the relationships I’ve made?
Is it the 1000s of hours of coaching, meetings and training sessions I’ve facilitated?
Is it my blocked-out colour-coded Google Calendar?
Is it my personal and professional growth?
Back in 2019, I had a conversation with my friend and mentor, Marcus Sheridan, about what success for us looks like. What’s the most important work for us over the coming years?
The answer was quite simple: to produce transformational client case studies. We both knew that if we kept this as our north star, everyone else would benefit from the work - both our clients and the organisation. We knew that it would take a few years, but we agreed that this is what we were here to do.
So, when I think about the tangible value of my work, I see my transformational client case studies are the major outcome (which also includes everything on the above list):
I can point to the case studies
I can watch the videos
I can tell the story
I can name the people
I can talk about the results
I can see the transformation
I can share them with people
…and my clients go on to tell their stories and experiences from their work with me, too.
The case studies are evidence that what I did (with a small team) worked. It produced value for a group of people. It was meaningful. It’s proof.
So, did I achieve my mission? Yes. Am I done yet? No.
The north star is still the same today as it was back in 2019. However, my mission has levelled up. I’m now helping 100s of other coaches create their own transformational case studies.
This article is your introduction to the framework that will produce transformational case study clients for you.
But first, we must look at why this framework is so necessary by turning our attention to why clients quit before true transformation is possible.
